School board President Christopher Salatino on Tuesday proposed a districtwide summit to address school safety following the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland that killed 17 students and faculty.

Democrat Christopher Salatino on Thursday formally announced his candidacy for the 119th state Assembly District. Salatino, the Utica schools Board of Education president, is seeking the seat currently occupied by state Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi.
